Professional (SAP) who is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare. Together with the 49 CFR Part 40, and the DOT Operating Administration rules, will provide SAPs with the information needed in the performance of their DOT-related duties. Our fundamental responsibility is to provide a comprehensive face-to-face assessment and clinical evaluation of employees that have violated the DOT drug and alcohol testing regulation, to determine what level of assistance the employee needs in resolving problems associated with alcohol use or prohibited drug use.
